Jackie, Jan, Martyn, Mike Heelis and Barbara Rayner attended this excellent session on 10th August when Phillippa enthused us with the potential of social media sites to further the aims of the Alton Society.
Twitter (which turns out to be a much more serious service than its name implies) offers us particularly exciting possibilities and Martyn undertook to explore these and report to the September committee meeting.
Meanwhile, why not start your own individual Twitter account www.twitter.com , as I have done during the past year or so, subscribing to feeds such as Civic Voice, CPRE, etc. in addition to anything else that happens to interest you. Key message: There is much more to Twitter than following the banal thoughts of celebrities...
